Normandy France home of Mont saint Michel, D Day invasion and Bayeux Tapestry
Etretat
Arches, Tunnels and lone needles, jut out into the sea, stark white against the dark waters of the channel. The central market square bordered by timber framed 16th century houses is charming, as is the unbroken curve of the promenade, above the shingle beach. Upturned boats with canopies act as bars on the shingles adding a quirky slant to the Etretat’s beach. Return to Seine-Maritime page
