Normandy France home of Mont saint Michel, D Day invasion and Bayeux Tapestry
Mortagne-au-Perche
The remains of the ancient fortifications which once surrounded the town survive in the Porte St Dennis, 15th century archways, topped with later 16th century additions, and house the Musee Percheron a display about Percheron horses. Once elegant but now delightfully shabby houses, there wrought iron balconies overhead lead towards the 15th century Eglise Notre-Dame, its Alter surrounded by many fine wooded carvings.
