Situated at the western tip of the Foret d’Ecouves is the delightful little hill town of Carrouges. Below the town in the valley is the Chateau, dating from the 14th century and home to successive members of the Le Veneur family for over 500 years, Reclining in stunning parkland the elegant castle constructed of black and rose-coloured brickwork, with a magnificent staircase, Louis XI bedroom, displays the produce of local artisans in the former chapel and the Natural Regional Normandie Parc information centre.
