Normandy France home of Mont saint Michel, D Day invasion and Bayeux Tapestry

Belleme

Perched on top of a sharp hill, with superb forest views off in the distance, all that remains of this once walled town is the ancient stone Porche. Now housing the library this forbidding structure is still equipped to take a portcullis. Woodland and forests nearby are renowned for a gastronomic delight in the shape of the local mushrooms.
