Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte – Normandy

Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte, Canton is a town with a large area consisting of vast expanses of marshes, a large forest and hills. Located in the center of the Normandy Cotentin Peninsular, Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte owes its existence to its strategic location at the edge of the moat, with river floods which once isolated the northern peninsula. The main activity of the area, which remains prevalent today is the raising of cattle, which is evident by the grazing offered in summer by the vast marsh meadows. Saint-Sauveur currently has 2242 inhabitants, which are also dispersed in the local countryside .
The village has a good sample of traditional shops and services. The weekly market takes place on Saturday.
The fairs of olden days have disappeared but agricultural commerce and competitions for horses continue to illustrate the role of livestock in the Normandy country.
