Normandy France home of Mont saint Michel, D Day invasion and Bayeux Tapestry

Granville

Set into the granite walls is the Musee du Vieux Granville which holds a collection of various artefacts about the town and other local interests. On the inland facing section of Granvilles Haute-Ville is the Musee d’Art Moderne Richard Anacreon, a son of the town , and is filled with sketches and autographs from the likes of Cocteau, Derain and Picasso.

Beyond the walls, the lighthouse on the Pointe du Roc offers spectacular views, meanwhile the family home of the courturier Christian Dior overlooks the golden beach northeast of the citadel section. A striking pink and orange house, the childhood home of the designer responsible for the “New Look”, has ever changing exhibitions on Dior, and fashion aspects of the 20th century.
