Normandy France home of Mont saint Michel, D Day invasion and Bayeux Tapestry

Lyons-la-Foret

A house downhill from the halles, its distinctive ceramic chimneypots silhouetted against the sky, the composer Maurice Ravel wrote “Le Tombeau de Couperin” during a visit in 1917 AD. With its situation within the Majestic beech Foret de Lyons the town is a good base for walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the dukes of Normandy’s hunting grounds. Return to Eure page
