Evreux

The mellow stone 12th to 17th century Cathedrale Notre-Dames is linked by a riverside walk to the solitary Tour de L’Houge, a free-standing tower built in 1490, from which a bell strikes on the hour. Set within the precincts of the15thCentury bishop’s palace, the Musee L’Ancien Eveche retells the bloody history of the town. Eglise St-Taurin a 12th century one time abbey church contains a fine gold plated and enamelled 13th century reliquary, that within rests the relics of Saint Taurin. Return to Eure page
