Cabourg

Marcel Proust stayed at the Grand numerous times between 1881 and 1914 and indeed the very promenade on which it stands bears his name. The bedroom in which the author stayed is available, even the rock star Sting slept in the room no doubt gaining some artistic inspiration. The Proust novel Du Cote de Chez Swann includes the town of “Belbec” which in realty is Cabourg.Return to Calvados page
